How do slaughter lines work?

Slaughter work is a series of consecutive activities that must be performed both in the right sequence and in a specific manner. The aim is to apply humanitarian principles, maintain hygiene, and ensure good organization of the entire process. For this to happen, it is necessary to use modern slaughter lines that guarantee comfort, efficiency and speed of operation. How should they stand out? And what do such lines consist of? We answer these and other questions in our article.

Slaughter lines - how should they work?

Slaughter lines have an important function. That is why they should work rhythmically, be distinguished by their adaptation to the type of activity they conduct, and also demonstrate reliability. Thanks to their use, the plant's operation is dynamic, production results - high, and sales are constantly growing, contributing to the company's development. Another advantage is the ability to maintain the highest standards of hygiene, which is crucial in the case of meat.

Additionally, the use of modern slaughter lines:

  • makes work better organized and runs much more efficiently,
  • makes the time between individual activities shorter, which means fewer problems with keeping the meat fresh,
  • gives you the opportunity to choose a solution tailored to the needs of a given company.

What elements does the slaughter line consist of?

What elements does the slaughter line consist of? To begin with, it is worth emphasizing that each solution can be constructed slightly differently: different slaughter lines are used for poultry and others for pigs. However, there are basic elements that appear almost always. These include forage corridors, a stunning box, a bleeding table, a spray washer, a dehairing machine, intestine and stomach washers, a processing track, and scalding ovens.

Importantly, the trouble-free operation of the above-mentioned parts is guaranteed by the use of high-quality components, such as:

  • horizontal conveyorsmade of high-quality materials, such as stainless steel, which are used to move carcasses between the various phases of the slaughter and chilling process,
  • tray-hook conveyors, which are used to transport separated pieces of meat and can be integrated with additional systems (e.g. washing and disinfection system),
  • differential conveyors, used to move carcasses between different processing steps,
  • transport railways, including railways with a tubular or flat bar track, made of galvanized steel, stainless steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, galvanized steel.
