Advanced mechanisms are required to achieve all of these goals. In addition to horizontal conveyors and tray-hook conveyors, differential conveyors are also often used. What are they characterized by? And where are they used? We answer these and other questions in our article.
What are differential conveyors?
Generally speaking, conveyors are transport devices that are used in various fields and have a number of distinct characteristics. In the case of a slaughterhouse, i.e. the place where the slaughter is performed and then the carcass is cleaned and divided, the lifts must meet the highest standards.
And what are they characterized by differential conveyors? These mechanisms are used primarily to move carcasses between different processing levels. These elements are made of high-quality materials that are safe in contact with meat - mainly stainless steel and hot-dip galvanized steel. Bends and guides should be made of similar materials, while the fasteners are mainly based on galvanized steel or stainless steel. Thanks to the use of such materials, the differential conveyors work without failure, are durable, are distinguished by high quality and guarantee effective work.
One of the most important tasks in which a differential conveyor is involved is bleeding the animal. This mechanism lifts the carcass with a loop attached to the hind leg, then brings it to the bleed track and is ready for further processing after a while.
Importantly, the differential conveyor can operate both from the lower level to the upper level and vice versa: from the upper to the lower level.
Why is it worth using differential conveyors in a slaughterhouse?
The use of modern, high-quality differential conveyorsas well as other transporting elements is of great importance in creating effective and failure-free slaughter lines. The goal, of course, is to increase the plant's capacity, which means to increase the amount of carcasses prepared per hour. The automation of tasks that until recently were performed by people is also of great importance.
It should also be remembered that the shorter the time between the individual stages of the process, the greater the value of the final product, i.e. the final raw material that is to be sold. Thus, differential conveyors have an indirect impact on both the quality of operations and the quality of the raw material.
