What are lead screws?
Lead screws (also called trapezoidal) are rotating mechanisms with trapezoidal threads. They make it possible to transfer the drive, and more specifically to convert the rotary motion into a progressive one.
We distinguish two main types of lead screws:
- symmetrical trapezoidal screws that are able to work in both directions,
- asymmetric trapezoidal screws, which have one direction of working movement and are able to work with heavy loads.
Lead screws they are produced in the precision rolling process. As a result, they are resistant to damage, have a long service life, withstand heavy loads and show good coefficients of friction. They are used to create carbon steel and stainless steel.
Where are lead screws used?
