Where do idler wheels apply?

Reliability and high quality are two features that evoke positive associations in us and are necessary in various industries. Elements that stand out with them can be used even in difficult, demanding conditions that have a negative impact on the mechanisms used. One of the inconspicuous but key parts are the so-called idler wheels. What are they characterized by? And where are they used? We answer these and other questions in our article.

What are idler pulleys?

Idler wheelsor in other words, guide wheels, are elements whose task is - as the name suggests - to tighten the chain on which the forces are transferred. In many cases, the aforementioned forces are really enormous, which means that the elements used, including idler pulleys, must be of the highest quality. The key to success is, among others they are made on the basis of steel and subjected to a treatment that will make them resistant to destruction, mechanical damage, high temperature and aggressive chemical agents.

However, it doesn't stop there. Idler wheels play a special role and are subjected to many additional onesunfavorable factors. It goes, among others the fact that regular contact of the rack with the chain causes friction, which destroys the surface of the element, reducing its grip. So remember to regularly replace the idler so that the efficiency of the entire process does not decrease.

It is worth emphasizing that the idler wheels should only come from proven suppliers, such as our company. Only then will we be guaranteed quality, efficiency and, importantly, safety. When it comes to our offer, it is very important that the tensioning wheels we offer are additionally oxidized, which makes the steel used in their production even more resistant to rusting.

Where are they used?

Where are idler wheels used? They constitute an important part of specialized machine mechanisms and are used, among others, in in industrial and construction equipment. Their operation is appreciated wherever it is necessary to translate force into the chain, i.e. in various industries: food, wood, or even in the precision industry, where efficiency, quality and safety count.
